Well proportioned three year-old Slick Image debuted today for an impressive victory at Doomben continuing the good form of Ontrack Thoroughbreds and trainer Trevor Bailey.
Slick Image comfortably defeated his rivals by a widening margin of 2 3/4 lengths, covering the 1200m journey in 1:10.71.
Ridden by Glen Colless, Slick Image jumped well from his wide gate to cross to fourth before hunting down the early leaders to score an authoritative victory.
A first crop son of former Widden Stud shuttle stallion Southern Image (by Southern Halo), Slick Image is a half brother to smart Sydney sprinter Nightofthegeneral.
Slick Image follows in the footsteps of stablemate Flying Minstrel who also scored an impressive victory at Doomben last Saturday in the All Gold colours of Ontrack Thoroughbreds.
Slick Image was purchased by Grant Morgan of Ontrack Thoroughbreds at the 2008 Magic Millions Winter Yearling Sale from the Emerald Thoroughbreds draft.
